General Requirements (for all tech roles)

  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in relevant field (desktop, networking, fiber, data center, AV, or project coordination)

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local & regional travel

  • Comfortable working onsite at customer locations and lifting up to 50 lbs; able to climb ladders and work in server rooms/ceiling plenum when required

  • Flexible schedule: weekday travel, occasional early/late shifts and multi-day projects; weekend work as needed

  • Strong customer service and communication skills — you’re often the face of CK Tech on site

  • Background check and drug screening required prior to hire

  • Must own (or be willing to be provided with) basic hand tools and a smartphone/tablet for job documentation

  • Willingness to travel, sometimes multi-day assignments

  • Right to work in the United States

Field Service Technician — Onsite IT Support (Sample)

Location: Multiple sites
Type: Full/Part-time / Contract

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals on customer sites

  • Provide on-site Windows/macOS support, software installs, imaging, and endpoint rollouts

  • Escalate hardware warranty issues to vendors (Dell/HP) and manage returns/replacements

  • Document work in CRM/dispatch system and update asset/inventory records

  • Deliver excellent customer service; represent CK Tech professionally at client sites

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years field service or onsite IT experience

  • Familiar with imaging tools (e.g., MDT, Acronis, Ghost), Active Directory and basic networking (DHCP/DNS)

  • Comfortable with physical installs and customer-facing communication

Preferred

  • A+ or equivalent certificate; Dell/HP vendor experience a plus

Network & Installation Technician (Meraki/Wi-Fi/Firewall)

Location: Client sites & installations

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure network equipment: switches, Meraki/UniFi/Wi-Fi APs, small firewalls and cabling

  • Terminate and label network cables; perform basic troubleshooting and network testing

  • Assist with rack & stack, patch panel work, IP addressing and VLAN setup

  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure installs meet scope and timelines

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years network install experience or equivalent field work

  • Comfortable using cable tester, tone generator, and handheld network tools

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, and wireless fundamentals

Preferred

  • Certifications: CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Meraki Certification, or equivalent

Fiber Technician / Fusion Splicer

Location: Field (multi-day projects possible)

Responsibilities

  • Perform fiber splicing (fusion), OTDR testing, fiber termination and troubleshooting

  • Complete cable pulls, conduit installations and fiber assemblies per spec

  • Produce test reports (OTDR, power meter) and ensure splices meet loss budgets

  • Maintain fusion splicer, cleaver and test equipment

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years fiber splicing and testing experience

  • Able to read fiber schematics and interpret OTDR traces

  • Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor conditions

Preferred

  • Certifications/vendor training in fiber splicing and OTDR interpretation

Data Center / Server Technician

Location: Customer data centers and on-site server rooms

Responsibilities

  • Rack & stack servers, SANs, switches and PDUs; cable management and labeling

  • Assist with hardware replacement, firmware updates and imaging at scale

  • Participate in lifts and multi-tech installs (7-lift/spotter projects) safely and per plan

  • Maintain detailed records for assets, serials and configurations

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in data center/server hardware installs

  • Ability to follow lift plans and safely perform heavy lifts with team (spotter experience)

  • Familiarity with server vendors (Dell, HPE), RAID, and basic SAN concepts

Preferred

  • Lift certifications or safety training; experience with large deployments/rollouts

AV & Low Voltage Technician

Location: Install sites (retail, stadiums, conference rooms and etc)

Responsibilities

  • Install AV systems, displays, mounts, cabling (HDMI, SDI), and control systems

  • Integrate AV gear with networks and configure endpoints

  • Test and calibrate systems; provide customer training and documentation

Required Qualifications

  • Experience installing AV equipment and structured cabling

  • Comfortable working from ladders and scissor lifts; good attention to cable routing and labeling

Preferred

  • Experience with Crestron, Extron, Barco, and stadium/large-venue installs

Project Manager / Lead Technician

Location: Office & field (project oversight)

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-tech projects, coordinate scheduling, subcontractors and client communication

  • Produce project plans, risk assessments, and sign-offs for moves, adds, and major installs

  • Ensure job documentation, time tracking and billing accuracy

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years field or project leadership experience in IT/network/AV/data center projects

  • Strong organizational and communication skills; comfortable holding client calls and site walkthroughs

Preferred

  • PMP, ITIL or equivalent project experience; experience with large vendor rollouts

Dispatch / Operations Coordinator

Location: Office / Remote

Responsibilities

  • Schedule field technicians, manage dispatch tickets and update clients on job status

  • Confirm equipment, order parts and maintain inventory accuracy

  • Maintain work records and help generate proposals or work orders

Required Qualifications

  • 1–2 years experience in dispatch, field operations or service coordination

  • Strong organizational skills and customer service mindset
